BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU

RIGAN MACHADO

When grapplers discuss the legends of Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu they talk about Rigan Machado in hushed tones. The Eighth degree red and black belt earned his rank under the Grandmaster of the art, Carlos Gracie Jr. and by battling literally hundreds of the world's best fighters.

Rigan is an eight times World Jiu-Jitsu champion with a record of three hundred and sixty five wins in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition.  He even created a record by winning nineteen matches in one day, finishing all of them by submission. Rigan Machado remains unbeaten in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in more than thirteen years of competition.

His students are considered legends in their own rights, UFC champion B.J. Penn, Karate champion Chuck Norris, Bruce Lee's training partner Guro Dan Inasanto, among many others. At The Academy you will learn directly from one of the sport's legends in a clean, safe and welcoming environment.

'Brazilian Jiu-jitsu is one hundred percent ground fighting and is one of the fastest growing sports in the world today. It is all about leverage. Jiu-Jitsu was created for the weak to fight against the strong. But the goal of Jiu-Jitsu is not just to learn the techniques but how to better yourself. I hope to do the same with my students.'
